Synopsis
Having failed in their mission to acquire a relic from Topkapi Palace in Turkey, Furies Bernadeth, Gilotina, and Stompa have returned empty-handed to Darkseid’s lair in the Amazon Jungle. He spares their lives, offering one more chance to serve him in his plan to combine the energy of several relics.
The next day, Wonder Woman greets Steve Trevor as he returns from his latest mission to secure the same relics. They exchange stories about their day; he relaying his battle with the Furies in Turkey and then fighting off Parademons, she recounting three separate skirmishes with super villains in Washington DC; Zara, a pyrokinetic; the Blue Snowman aka Byrna Brilliant; and a female version of Angle Man called Anglette, who even used the same Angler weapon.
Wonder Woman tells Steve that she was able to connect her three adversaries to Veronica Cale, to whom she later paid a visit. She explains how Cale defiantly confirmed her suspicions before smugly ending the conversation. On top of it all, Diana reveals that she is worried about her brother’s disappearance.
At that moment, Jason appears above them, wearing a costume, announcing, “I’m back!”
