Death Date May 6, 2002 (aged 86)

Robert Kanigher was a comic book writer and editor who began as a fill-in writer for Wonder Woman on Sensation Comics #42. Following the death of Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston (and his ghost writer Joye Murchison's departure), Kanigher became Wonder Woman's primary writer for the following 22 years.

Kanigher first worked with originating artist Harry G. Peter, followed by Ross Andru. Some of their changes to Wonder Woman and her supporting cast included making Hippolyta blond; a departure from the similar coloring and features she shared with Diana. Similarly, Giganta became a blonde instead of a red-head.

Kanigher was also the co-creator of Barry Allen, the second character to go by the name of The Flash.
